(Californian Tree Poppy)
Romneya coulteri is a wonderful, choice perennial, this is a tough one to get going from our point of view as it can be a bit fussy in the propagation stage. Once established, as our pot plants are, it grows strongly and vigorously and produces a lovely mass of silver grey foliage which is delicate and attractive just on its on. In mid summer large, tissue paper like, pure white flowers with a yellow center are produced on mass, these flowers resemble poppy flowers and are huge, sometimes being as large as 6 inches across.
A really choice plant to add to the garden that will work from full sun into partial shade, prefers a drier soil rather than moist or wet and will tolerate a poorer soil too, can grow to a height of 5ft with a spread of 5ft after a few years.
