Agapanthus Blue Umbrella is a semi-evergreen bulbous perennial from the Liliaceae family, also known as the African Lily. While some varieties may be more tender, this particular selection has proven to be reasonably hardy and only requires protection from severe conditions. It is a low-maintenance plant that keeps a covering of foliage throughout winter.

One of the unique characteristics of Agapanthus is its adaptability to different soil types. As long as it is well-drained and receives plenty of sunlight, it will thrive in any soil. However, it is important to keep the soil moist, not too dry or boggy. This plant also responds well to feeding, which can improve its flowering.

Flowering from June to September, Agapanthus Blue Umbrella produces rounded flower heads with a slight umbrella shape in shades of white, light blue, dark blue, and purple. Once the flowers have gone over, they are replaced by hard, large black seeds. To prolong the flowering period, it is recommended to trim the stems back to the foliage once the flowers have faded.

Don't miss out on this unique and beautiful addition to your garden. Agapanthus Blue Umbrella is supplied in a 2 Litre pot and is hardy once established in a sheltered spot. Its striking flowers and low-maintenance nature make it a perfect choice for any garden. Order yours today from Champion Plants.
