Sun loving perennial which is best in a warm, dry spot, a fantastic plant for the border and almost unrivaled for it's blue flowers which are intensely blue, long lasting and on tall stems. Dropmore is one of the tallest flowering variety from the many varieties of Anchusa.

Fully hardy
Herbaceous Perennial
Native to Europe, North Africa and into Asia. Often found growing along roadsides or stony hills and being very happy in poorer or drier soils. Flowering from May - July, this plant has upright stems to over a metre and from a strong root-stock. Likes a deep root run and needs a bit of space to bulk up.
Anchusa is closely related to Brunnera and some similarities can be seen, this is a plant that provides some of the richest blues for early summer, flowers are borne on branching spikes and benefit from staking.
