Ribes speciosum
The Fuchsia flowered Gooseberry, this large growing shrub has glossy green foliage, red stems and stiff thorns. In late winter/early spring the underside of the branches are covered in small, red, fuchsia like flowers which put on a wonderful display.
Can be trained against a wall, grown as a specimen shrub or as part of a mixed border.
Grows to around 1.5m with a similar spread.
