Stipa extremiorientalis
This is a deciduous grass, with a perennial habit and attractive blade like narrow green leaves. Creates a tight clump, forming a base of foliage, and is very attractive as a foliage plant.
This plant put on real show last summer on the nursery and shone when it flowered, the flowers are produced in summer and form on the end of upright flower spikes, the flowers are a nice size and separate out on the flower head making a really interesting flower which are quite unique.
Prune the foliage back hard to the ground in early spring to allow new growth to show.
